Accidental Dumpster Diving
Last night my Dad asked me to break down some large boxes and put them in the recycling containers. These containers are located in the basement of the condo buildling he lives in. I wasn’t too excited about getting involved with some garbage considering my girlfriend was coming over for dinner in the next five minutes. I had to be quick.
I grabbed the boxes and tore them down to foldable, crunchable shapes that would cram into the recycling bins easily. Upon opening one of the recycling containers I saw a lonely, sad, box of “Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition”! I couldn’t believe it! I opened it up to find one VHS tape of “Star Wars” remaining so I took it. Star Wars is Star Wars, right? Too bad it’s VHS. I’m pretty sure I still have a VHS player somewhere though…
Underneath the box was another tape: “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusdade.” Yoink!
I kept going and found a CD case entitled “Final Fantasy VIII” complete with unblemished Playsation CD and manual. I figured I could sell this to some 2nd hand shop or on ebay for a few free bucks. Lifting the Final Fantasy CD case revealed about 12 more games complete with cases and manuals. I had to remove them to make room for the box parts I was about to cram in there and lo and behold…. right beneath all the games was the original box of the Playstation containing not only the Playstation itself, but three controllers!!
I’m guessing someone decided to throw out the 1/4″ of dust collector out of boredom. That or they upgraded to one of the new technological wonders that exist today. No matter.
I just received an email from my Dad saying his excitement and curiosity could be contained no longer. He hooked it up and it all works perfectly!
