World Bound

I’ve been toying with the idea of seeing Asia for close to five years now. Rachel & Nat have had the chance to visit before and over the years we’ve unofficially tossed the idea around. With this New Year around the corner small chat has been solidified into reality. Tickets have been purchased, arrangements have been made, a destination chosen, a rough path drawn.

Our journey begins on January 11th, 2006 with a flight into London via Aer Lingus. After a short stay and visit with life time friend Dan Beimborn, we’ll board the train and head into Berlin. Another short stay, sightseeing, and another train will take us into Moscow. I hear the borscht is fantastic! We will then depart for Beijing via the Trans Siberian Railway for a six day train journey across the depths of Russia including the Siberian desert. Arrival in Beijing will be just in time for the Chinese New Year celebration. This coming year is the year of the Dog.

I’ll have my camera and laptop with me to help document the trip. Stay tuned for trip updates, I’ll do my best to keep you all up to date on our adventures!
