This Halloween Rachel, Nat, Pam & I went to New York City! We borrowed Nat’s Parent’s Toyota minivan much to our delight. I can’t imagine driving 16 hours in one of our cramped Honda’s… yuk.
We decied to go as the Thundercats! That’s right - the fun cartoon straight out of the 80’s! Pictures are of course up. I managed to get these up faster than any other trip/update before. I think the excitement and constant high I still have from the trip was motivation.
The drive there was OK, 16 hours is a tough trip nonstop, but with 4 people to share the driving it’s bareable. We had our nerd laptop with us so we could watch DVD’s on the way. The company was fantastic on top of it
Allow me to introduce your characters for the trip…

Jacob as Tygra!
Rachel as Cheetara!
Nat as Liono!
Pam as WilyKit!
We also met up with Nat’s brother Abe, his girlfriend Lori, and friend Brian who went as Optimus Prime, Spider Woman and Clark Kent. We were quite the bunch I might add.
Our Friday night arrival took us over the Washington bridge, through downtown, and then over the Brooklyn Bridge to Abe’s apartment. There we got ready and went out to a costume party. That evening we had a fun time trying to get into Adam’s apartment. Post partying meetings are usually quite interesting. Let’s just say we met his sweet land lady and got him in trouble with his girlfriend. hehe. Adam thank you so much for letting us stay with you! It made the trip that much more fun!
Oh yeah and how could we forget about the cab trip …
Alright, so we were supposed to meet Adam at his apartment on the other side of Brooklyn. We took our sweet ass time getting there so naturally he fell asleep like any normal post partying person would do. 36 missed calls later, he finally woke up by some act of God and called us back. By this time we had already flagged down a late night cab driver to take us back to Abe’s. Adam called us just as we were getting on the Brooklyn bridge at 4:30 am during a traffic accident. We asked the cabby to take us back to where he picked us up and he was not pleased. He told us that he was off duty now and we would have to take another cab. He then proceeded to kick us out in the *middle of the bridge* and dump us in another cab! The cars behind us held their horns the entire time we were scrambling to grab our bags and not get run over. We didn’t pay the guy and weren’t even sure if this new driver would get us back. We made it though and slept very nicely that night. Never a dull moment!
Back to work for now. Enjoy the pics!
