Sing it!

So I’ve been taking voice lessons for a little over a month with Rebecca Olthafer. Things are going really well! My voice is opening up to notes I couldn’t normally reach without the lessons. Rebecca does a fantastic job! I especially like the stuffed animal practice audience to help get over the crowd anxiety ;)
But tonight folks, I have a voice recital! Yes, you can come for free to see me in my voice geek glory! 6PM in the Humanities building. I will be singing an Italian piece entitled “Caro Mio Ben” and parental favorite “Oh Danny Boy” It should be a great time.

I’ve also had the pleasure of great embarassment this morning at work when a large bouquet of balloons showed up at the front desk for me. Katie, you rock, thank you so much! I’ve never gotten “Good Luck” balloons ever, and especially wasn’t expecting anything to show up at work! HA! We all thought they were for our co-worker since it’s her birthday. The “Good Luck” threw us off until we read the card…. yes good times.

Nat & I caught some storm on our digitals. The night was perfect and we had a great view from our parents place in Muskego! The western sky was clear and partly cloudy while the eastern parts were wild and active! Huge cumulous clouds (i’m no meteorologist though) and lots of great lightning!

One of the coolest parts about watching this lightning show was standing in front of the open stables where the neighbors two horses were whinnying and galloping around. They would occasionally raise their front hooves in the air while the lightning flashed in the background. It was a shame I couldn’t capture that imagery on my wimpy Canon S400! Maybe it’s time to talk Nat into getting that D10!

Whoooey! Nothing like waking up to a thunderstorm. I absolutely love storms. Things are so incredible outside. The sky darkens in a matter of seconds, rain pounds against the glass windows, the thunder echoes across the land. Despite the chaos there is something soothing and serene to see mother nature tearing through the sky in her infinite attempt to reach a global equilibrium. Something even a bit sexy about it.

I didn’t need my alarm clock this morning at all. I was drifting in and out of consciousness while staring out through the windows next to my bed. Having worked until 8PM last night I was allowed to come in a little later today. Could it get any better? Just as I was about to fall back into a deep sleep a huge flash accompanied by an explosive booming sound struck the ground somewhere close to the condo. It scared the crap out of me so suddenly that my whole body jumped up from the bed and flipped me partilaly over! Now that’s what I call a lightning storm! So much for alarm clocks! ;) Try that one on for your morning arrhythmia!

There’s no time man!

If anyone is wondering why I’ve been out of touch during the normal day (7AM - 7PM) it’s because I’m completely out of cell phone minutes. I used them all up in the first week of this billing period. But don’t worry! May 26th is just around the coner and I will be back in action! So please don’t think I’m avoiding you… well unless I am actually avoiding you. muahah But try again after the 26th and you’ll find out!

I’ve also been a slacker on my bloging. Some of you even called me during my free minute time (7PM-7AM - oooh a clue….) to remind me (ahem hehe) that without my blogging the world ceases to turn, excitement ebbs from your lives, and Bush still remains President. You know, that last one isn’t my fault… but anyways it’s good to be loved.
